Morgan and Alex’s wedding day at The Sutherland Estate and Gardens was all about reunions. This couple’s love story started at UNC Chapel Hill where they both attended school as undergraduates and attended the same church. Throughout their journey of dating, being engaged, and now married life, they have lovingly supported each other to navigate through some challenging times. Morgan and Alex had a long-distance relationship throughout Morgan’s time in Virginia at medical school and even lived in different states for a few months after their honeymoon. Morgan has cherished memories of looking out into the crowd during their ceremony and feeling all the love and support from their family and friends as they reunited to commit a lifetime together!
The Makeup Culture team were the most kind and wonderful group of hair and makeup artists to work with! They created curly ½ up ½ down styles for the wedding party.
Morgan’s bridesmaids found floor length chiffon dresses in dusty blue from Azazie to complement the wedding colors. Each bridesmaid chose a style that was flattering for her individual shape. Morgan found the most fitting Stella York wedding dress at Ashley Grace Bridal after only a few hours of shopping!
Alex and his groomsmen wore classic black tuxes featuring fabric edging. They finished their look with bowties. They found their attire at Savvi Formalwear in Raleigh, NC.
On their special day, Morgan wore pearl and diamond earrings that Alex gave to her as a wedding gift. Morgan’s brooch on her bouquet belonged to her five-generations back great grandmother and every bride on her mother's side has worn it in her wedding for over 100 years.
Before the ceremony, Alex sported a new pair of shades that Morgan give to him as a wedding gift!
Embellished Blooms Floral and Event Design created rosy pink and peach bouquets. The ceremony and reception arrangements were elaborate designs of like flowers.
Ally and Bobby Fine Art Photography captured some very special moments displaying the pure joy in Morgan and Alex’s emotions after months of preparation for their marriage!
Get Lit Event Lighting created a starry night lighting design which made guests feel as if they were dancing under the stars to entertainment provided by Ryan Pflumm with SPIN.
Morgan gave some sound advice to couples planning their weddings. She said, “The wedding day is completely worth the months of preparation; don't forget to prepare yourselves for marriage and a new life together just as much or more than you plan for the big day!” Morgan and Alex are finally reunited at their new home in Hillsborough, NC and are settling into the newlywed life. We wish them all the best in their new chapter as Mrs. and Mrs. Alexander James Parker!
